Fa La La La La

We had a lovely Christmas here at the McElroy household. We had an easy-going day, watching the snow, opening presents, and snacking to our hearts' content. Here's a little sample of our holiday.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly.

'Tis the season to be jolly.

Don we now our gay apparel.


Troll the ancient Yule tide carol.


See the blazing Yule before us.

Strike the harp and join the chorus.


Follow me in merry measure.

While I tell of Yuletide treasure.



Fast away the old year passes.


Hail the new, ye lads and lasses.



Sing we joyous, all together.


Heedless of the wind and weather.

May Your Days Be Merry and Bright

Happy New Year, everyone! We had wonderful holidays here at the McElroy household. Nana and Atman were with us for Christmas, and despite the kiddos having colds, we had a great day. It was filled with stockings, presents, food, and even some snow. Really, snow! Here is proof of the first white Christmas in Portland in over 70 years.



Everyone got dressed up and jolly for the occasion. Here's little Miss Idgie in all her cuteness, and big brother Elliot and Papa in their matching Carharts.

Here are the stockings hung by the chimney with care (notice Imogen's new stocking, made for her by Nana), and Elliot having a big fun time pulling things out of his.


We had more than one Santa drop by on Christmas, as well. Here they are checking their lists twice.

Deck the Halls

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here! Yesterday we got our tree and had a wonderful time decorating it with family. Elliot got a head start with the lights.



He also had a great time picking out ornaments and instructing everyone as to where they should be hung on the tree.

Imogen of course loved all the pretty lights.

We were joined by Denny and Phyllis and Nona, Papa Pat, and Papa Mr. Vic Victor. They were being even sillier than the kids.

And even though he has a cold, that didn't stop our little elf from having a wonderful evening.

Today Imogen has her big brother's cold, too (it's nice when kids share, isn't it?), and it's snowing here in Portland. Happy holidays!
